Last night Chris and I went out for the evening. Chris had gotten me tickets to go see the Dancing with the Stars Live Show, so Mom Mom and her friend Carol came over to watch the girls while we were out.
We have been working with Emily on potty training for some time now. She is great with her pee, but until recently poop has been a BIG struggle. Just this week she earned a hoola hoop for putting her poopy in the potty.
Anyway, while we were out Emily disappeared into her toy closet for awhile. Mom Mom asked her what she was doing and Emily replied, "Trying to put my poopy in my underpants." Mom Mom asked her if she wanted to go on the potty which Emily declined. Then Mom Mom offered her money for her piggy bank if she put her poopy in the potty (There is nothing like a bribe to get a kid to use the potty). Emily quickly accepted the offer and immediately put her poo in the potty. Mom Mom pulled out a dollar bill to give to Emily as her reward. Emily looked at her and said, "I don't want that. What kind of money is that?" So, Mom Mom pulled out about $0.35 in change which made Emily much happier and she promptly deposited it in her piggy bank. Not bad if you can bribe your kid to poop on the potty for $0.35!!
Mom Mom also brought over some pictures she had just had developed. These pictures when all the back to Easter if not further. Anyway, she and Emily were going through the pictures and she was giving Emily some pictures she had duplicate of. They came to the Halloween pictures Mom Mom had taken of the girls. There were 2 pictures of Emily, Peyton and Mom Mom. One was centered nicely, which my mom kept for herself. The other was off center and one of Peyton's arms was cut off, she gave this picture to Emily. Emily being the photographer and all pitched a fit about receiving the off center picture, she said it was "yucky" and she didn't want it. What almost 3 year notices that kid of stuff. (I'll post the "yucky" picture later when I get a chance to scan it in)
It is never a dull moment in the Finch household!
