We started off celebrating Emily's birthday on Thursday with cupcakes at her preschool. They made her a cute pick crown and she enjoyed having all her school friends sing to her. The icing on the cake was they got to go see the cows and goats that the agriculture classes are raising at the end of the day. When I picked her up she exclaimed, "Those cows are STINKY!"
On Saturday we let Emily choose where we would go to dinner after church. At first she choose Sweet Tomatoes, but much to Chris's delight she quickly changed her mind to Cherry's so she could win prizes in the arcade. I'm not sure that Chris didn't bribe her to change her mind.
Sunday was her Princess/ Tinkerbell themed party. She would have had Fancy Nancy too, but I couldn't find any decorations. Although she did get some Fancy Nancy dress up close and a board game. We bounced in a bounce house, blew bubbles, played bingo, danced, hit a pinata and ate cake. She had a great time with friends and family.
Monday was actually the BIG day. We spent the day playing with all her new gifts. We did everything from play dolls to make crafts to play board games. Aunt Amy came over and brought us lunch and helped Emily color some princess pictures in one of her new coloring books. When Chris got home I took her to get her toenails and finger nails painted. Then it was off to Cracker Barrel for pancakes for dinner. We came home and sang Happy Birthday one last time and enjoyed some cupcakes.
It is so hard to believe it has been 4 years since Emily entered our world. She has grown and changed so much that it is hard to believe she was ever that tiny baby we brought home from the hospital that we had no clue what to do with. Now I can't imagine our lives with out her smiling face and overly observant comments about the world around her. She is a joy to all she is around and instantly worms her way into the hearts of all she meets!
We love you Emily and are so thankful that God gave us the privilege of being your parents!
