Happy Halloween!

We spent Halloween cheering on Daddy's school at a home football game.

Nana made the girls adorable poodle skirts in the school's colors and they attended the game as "Fifties Chics." We had our usual fun dancing to the band and had a little extra sugar thanks to all the treats they received.

Count Down to Cousins

We are very excited that Will, Eliza, Uncle Brad and Aunt Eden will be heading south to celebrate Thanksgiving with us this year. Emily has been asking constantly when they will be here, so we decided to make a count down or rather count up to their arrival day.

Emily and I made a BIG tree that we taped to their play closet door. We then made colorful paper leaves out of their hand prints. We are adding a leaf to our tree each day until their arrival!

Pumpkins, Pumpkins, Pumpkins

On Friday night we headed out to pick out some pumpkins for carving. We had a great time at a local pumpkin patch that a church just down the road from us was having. The kids ran around in the pumpkins and we tried to get them to sit still to take few pictures.

The whole gang: Ethan, Emily, Peyton, Cayden and Ryan.

Emily finally caught Peyton.

After returning home, we headed outside to do some carving. Aunt Amy had bought Emily a princess carving kit, so she choose the Ariel pattern for her pumpkin. Daddy was a good sport and started out the job, but soon found it to be difficult...

So, he handed the knife over to Mommy, who set out to proof it wasn't an impossible task.

The kids got bored with the pumpkin carving and took to riding bikes while they waited.

And then finally....

I do have to say, it came up pretty darn cute!!! And, I had one happy 3 year old when it was all said and done!!!

We still have another pumpkin to carve, but have decided to wait for another day. Emily has decided she wants us to carve Cinderella's carriage in the next one. It looks a lot more elaborate than Ariel's head, we'll see how that one turns out!

A Visit with a Childhood Friend

Last Sunday we headed over to Orlando to meet up with my friend Jen and her family. Jenn and I have known each other since before we could walk. Jen and her family were vacationing at Disney and invited us over to Saratoga Springs for some swimming and food. It was so much fun to catch up and watch our kids play together as we had done so many years ago.

Of course I only got pictures of the kids, I don't know how that happens, but it's the story of my life. So, here are Emily, Peyton and Adam enjoying the pool and playground at the Disney Resort.

Disney on Ice

Emily got a very special treat today when Grandpa and Linda took her to see Disney on Ice. We heard all about the fun they had when Peyton, Daddy and I met up with them at the Cheesecake Factory for dinner.

(Thanks Grandpa and Linda for a special day!)
