Today Emily, Peyton and I ventured out on our usual mid-morning walk to get our mail. We thought nothing of the gray sky looming above us. As we reached the mailboxes, which are a few blocks away, the heavens opened and the rain came down. There was nothing we could do, so we picked up our mail and started walking back home. We had the best time walking, running and skipping home in the rain and singing "Raindrops Keep Falling on my Head" (a favorite of Great-Grandma Stabbert) and "I'm Singing in the Rain." The rain didn't even stop Emily from having me pick her a pink flower off one of the trees on the way home.
It was truly one of those moments when you can't change your situation so you just make the best of it.
