So Sad.....

Okay, this one is for all you parents out there.

So Beth and I had a very rare night out together last night. (this night should have happened the evening prior, but that's a whole different story!) We were headed down to YBOR City in Tampa for a quick bite to eat at one of our favorite places to eat, Fresh Mouth, and then off to see a movie, Vantage Point. Amidst the tiredness and headaches, we headed out. As were driving downtown and have a nice conversation that didn't revolve around how many times our kids pooped that day or what crazy thing Emily did, I realized something that disturbed me very much. As we were approaching the toll plaza on the Crosstown, I realized I was singing along to the CD in the player. I know you're thinking, "okay, no big deal...we all do that...". NOT TO VEGGIE TALES, YOU DON'T!!!! Not only did we spend the first fifteen minutes of our car ride listening to Veggie Tales Sing-a-long, I was, in fact, singing along. So Sad.........

So once we got beyond that embarrassing moment, we made it to YBOR. We had our dinner (very enjoyable) and made our way to the theater. All in all, it was a good movie. Beth even stayed awake for "MOST" of it.

So as we left the movie at 8:15pm, I looked at Beth and said, "What do you want to do now?" Sadly, we couldn't think of anything more exciting to do than to stop at Target on the way home and pick up a few things.....some storage bins to help organize our batteries and light bulbs......

So, Sad........

PS (from Beth) - I started laughing so hard when I saw that Chris published this story, because I had be thinking about telling it here on our blog as well. First let me clarify it was not Veggie Tales we were listening to, but the Go, Diego Go! LIVE CD that was playing. Chris will argue that point, but unless he changed the CD today it was definitely Go, Diego Go!

Secondly, it should be stated that it is me that is the lame, tired one in this relationship. Chris kept thinking of things we could do and I kept saying, "I just want to go home, I'm tired!" Now that may have to do with the fact that I have worked 7 of the last 10 days, including closing Friday night and opening Saturday morning. 4:45 AM is early and when it hits 8:15 PM you are ready for bed.

The funniest part of the night for me however, was when Chris came to bed about 20 minutes after me with a defeated look on his face. I asked him why he was coming to bed it didn't bother me if he stayed up. He looked at me and said, "I'm actually really tired too!"

Life has changed so much in the last 5 years and we are definitely not feeling like the young kids we were when we got married!
