An Interupted Nature Walk

Last night Brad, Eden and Mom Mom took the kids on a nature walk, while Chris and I were running some errands in town. Upon our return we heard quite a tale of their adventure. Each kid had a bag of goodies they had gathered on the walk. We were told that Emily was extremely deliberate and serious about the items she choose for her bag, while Eliza was happy to swing her bag, until the rocks she had collected in the bottom swung and hit her in the face.

The exciting part comes when they thought they heard a rustling and then a low growl in the woods on their walk. We are in the Smoky Mountains, so it must of been a black bear, right!?! Their nature walk turned into a nature run and the sprinted back home.

Emily then told her Aunt Eden, "I'm glad the bear didn't eat us, because then I wouldn't be precious anymore!"

A little while later, having overcome her fear of the bears, Eliza decided she wanted to sleep outside on the porch. She told her mommy that she would be happy to sleep outside, by herself with "the bugs and the bears".
